For years, our BRAX subwoofer has been the benchmark for precision and unconditionally controlled bass reproduction. The task of creating a BRAX subwoofer that reproduces uncompromisingly deep details even in the smallest possible cabinets was all the more demanding. Every component of this exceptional subwoofer is not only designed for dynamics and perfect tonality, but is also designed to convert even the highest amplifier performance into sound pressure without compression.

MicroSphere - one material for two opposing requirements

The demand for maximum stiffness of the cone combined with maximum internal damping is like squaring the circle - but the unique MicroSphere" coating, in which hollow ceramic microspheres with a diameter of only 75 µm are integrated into a polymer layer and applied to the cone, makes the impossible possible. It gives the handmade cone maximum acoustic precision for incomparable reproduction.

Timeless elegance

The clear, reduced design language is the hallmark of every BRAX product - the ML8 SUB follows this philosophy unconditionally. The combination of the finest materials is once again clearly underlined by the optionally available MR8 stainless steel ring turned from the solid, which can be used as a mounting ring or to hold the grille, depending on the installation position. Of course, the ML8 SUB is delivered in an elegant wooden box and has its own serial number, which is recorded in a service database.

Our data for the net volumes of closed housings always refer to an unfilled housing without any insulating material. The net volumes can be reduced provided the interior of the case is completely loosely (not stuffed) filled with suitable materials.

The following materials can be used for insulation:

Polyester wadding allows a volume reduction of up to 5%

Mineral or rock wool allows a volume reduction of up to 10%

Sheep's wool enables a volume reduction of up to 20%

Note:

The insulation of bass reflex housings (if they are only used in the bass range up to 150 Hz) is counterproductive because the insulation material usually reduces the effect of the bass reflex tunnel.
